Avenger Security provides professional home alarm monitoring, compatible system takeovers and Alarm.com interactive service throughout Austin, Central Texas and other Texas service areas.

New-client consultation: New clients considering a new home-security or monitoring service receive an on-site visit and up to one hour of consultation at no cost. Troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs and technical service on an existing system are billable at standard service rates.

Home monitoring plans

Equipment, installation, communicator upgrades, permits and service work are separate unless included in a written proposal. First and last month may be collected at activation.

No multi-year monitoring contract

Avenger Security does not require a multi-year home-alarm monitoring agreement. Service uses a 90-day cancellation notice. Review the written proposal for the activation date, included features, equipment charges and cancellation procedure.

What professional monitoring does

1. The alarm panel sends a programmed event through its available communication path.
2. The central station identifies the account, event and zone information.
3. The operator follows the account’s verification and call-list instructions.
4. Emergency services may be requested when the event and instructions call for dispatch.
5. The account history records the received signal and operator actions.

Monitoring cannot guarantee that every signal will be transmitted, verified or dispatched, or that an authority will respond within a particular time. Equipment condition, communications, permit status, user actions, verification procedures and agency policy can affect the outcome.

Basic monitoring and Alarm.com service

Basic monitoring focuses on receiving alarm signals and following the response plan. Compatible Alarm.com interactive service can add:

• Remote arm and disarm.
• System-status and event-history access.
• Alarm, arming, trouble and sensor notifications.
• Individual user management.
• Supported locks, garage doors, thermostats or automation.

Available features depend on the panel, communicator, service package and connected equipment.

Can an existing alarm system be reused?

Many professionally installed panels, keypads, sensors and sirens can remain in service. A takeover review checks:

• Control-panel model, revision and installer access.
• Communicator technology and cellular compatibility.
• Zone condition, labeling and supervision.
• Keypad, siren, battery and power operation.
• Signal reporting to the central station.
• Emergency contacts, passcodes and dispatch instructions.

Proprietary, damaged or unsupported equipment may need replacement. An obsolete communicator may require upgrading even when the panel and sensors remain usable.

Cellular communication and backup power

A compatible LTE communicator can report without relying on a traditional telephone line. Some systems can also use an internet path. Cellular or dual-path communication still depends on coverage, panel operation, backup power and service availability.

The backup battery, communicator and central-station signals should be tested periodically.

False-alarm prevention

• Assign an individual code to each authorized user.
• Train everyone on arming, disarming and cancellation procedures.
• Repair loose contacts, failing batteries and intermittent devices promptly.
• Use pet-appropriate motion detection when needed.
• Keep the alarm permit and emergency call list current.
• Test every zone and final central-station signal after service.

Optional connected services

A home-security plan can be coordinated with compatible locks, garage controls, thermostats and cameras. Cloud-managed video is different from CCTV: a system using internet connectivity, apps or cloud storage is network or cloud-managed video.
