Commercial Alarm Monitoring and System Takeovers

Avenger Security provides commercial burglar-alarm monitoring, Alarm.com interactive service, system takeovers and professional programming for businesses throughout Austin, Central Texas and other Texas service areas.

New-client consultation: New clients considering a new commercial-security or monitoring service receive an on-site visit and up to one hour of consultation at no cost. Troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs and technical service on an existing system are billable at standard service rates.

Commercial Alarm.com monitoring

Standard commercial Alarm.com burglar monitoring is $39.99 per month. A compatible cellular panel or communicator is required. Equipment, installation, permits, cloud-video service, access-control subscriptions and repair work are separate unless included in a written proposal.

Avenger Security does not require a multi-year burglar-alarm monitoring contract. Recurring service uses a 90-day cancellation notice, and first and last month may be collected at activation.

Commercial monitoring features

Depending on the panel, communicator and selected plan, authorized users may have access to:

• Central-station alarm response.
• Remote arm and disarm.
• Individual user codes and activity history.
• Opening, closing, trouble and exception notifications.
• Partition and schedule management.
• Unexpected activity and sensor notifications.
• Multi-site administration for compatible accounts.

Exact features must be confirmed for the installed equipment and written service package.

Existing-system takeovers

Many professionally installed commercial systems can be reprogrammed instead of replaced. A takeover evaluation checks:

• Panel model, revision and installer access.
• Communicator and cellular-network compatibility.
• Zone condition, supervision and labeling.
• User-code and partition requirements.
• Battery, siren, keypad and power condition.
• Alarm, trouble, opening and closing signal reporting.
• Emergency contacts, passcodes and dispatch instructions.

Proprietary, damaged or unsupported equipment may need replacement. Avenger Security does not recommend unsupported Qolsys IQ Panel 2 equipment for new commercial applications.

How professional monitoring works

1. The alarm panel sends an event through its configured communication path.
2. The central station receives the account, event and zone information.
3. The operator follows the business’s approved verification and call-list instructions.
4. Emergency services may be requested when the event and instructions call for dispatch.
5. The event and operator actions are recorded in the account history.

Monitoring does not guarantee that every event will be transmitted, verified or dispatched, or that an authority will respond within a specific time.

Access-control integration

A compatible access-control event can coordinate with the burglar-alarm system when the design and operating workflow support it. For example, an authorized credential may disarm a designated partition.

Access control still requires appropriate locking hardware, free egress, door-position monitoring, request-to-exit inputs, power and audit-event programming. Review commercial access-control services.

Video and alarm verification

Cloud-managed cameras can support incident review and optional video verification. Video surveillance, video guard monitoring and burglar-alarm monitoring are separate services with different response procedures and recurring costs.

Commercial fire alarm is a separate regulated system

Commercial fire-alarm design, installation, inspection, repair and monitoring follow separate licensing, approved plans and AHJ requirements. Burglar-alarm equipment and app features are not a substitute for an approved commercial fire alarm.

Alarm permits and account administration

The property owner or responsible party should confirm the responding law-enforcement jurisdiction, obtain and renew any required alarm permit, and provide the current permit number to the monitoring company.

Review user access, opening and closing reports, emergency contacts and verbal passcodes regularly. Remove former employees immediately.
